Get Out Your Wallets, Please

WFMU is presently in the last weekend of their fundraising drive. They are presently 94k short of where they need to be. Click this sentence and go give them money now now now now NOW. Now, you might say: "But I don't listen to WFMU!" but here's the great part: if you just step out in faith, as the evangelicals would put it, and pledge, you'll find yourself listening to WFMU just out of a need to have gotten your money's worth. And you know what you'll find, listening? That it's one of the best stations ever, by which I really do mean ever ever EVER, and that there's nothing really like it anywhere in the world. "Diamond in rough," "National treasure," all them sortsa corny designations, they apply here. Just give 'em five bucks if that's all you got, but please give 'em something. And if you got a bit more, their premiums are completely awesome.

I listen to her through headphones when I'm in a dressing room, or in a hotel room, or on an airplane, or in a radio station's waiting room. I am not the kinda guy who goes through periods of listening to only one artist, but if I kept an Audioscrobbler page for my iPod, it'd probably show Kaki King crushing all competitors by about 3:1. (Except for maybe Dionne Warwick & the Stylistics, who've both gotten a lot of play since December.)
