So Profanatica, one of the longest-running American black metal bands, dudes who were fucking shit up back when all anybody outside of a few very quick motherfuckers knew about BM was that some dudes were burning churches up in Norway*, puts out a new album in May, one that neatly draws looping connections between Florida death, doomy sludge, and proper Northern frost...and hardly anybody says shit about it? I know I must sound kind of cranky here, and if so so be it, but this isn't like some obscure grind band made a record I totally loved to pieces and played repeatedly every day. This is one of the dudes from the original Incantation line-up. I'm slow and easily distracted, and obsess over single albums for weeks at a time while all the news passes me by, so that's my excuse. You dudes who're all up on the latest & greatest, though: how come I didn't hear about this from you?

*NB I was not one of said very quick motherfuckers and don't claim to have been - I liked some American death metal in the early nineties, and some of the melodic Scandinavian schtick reached me, but it took me until long after the glory days to get my head around the troo kvlt stuff & I had to work backwards like most everybody else)
