I worked from home this morning.  I edited the morning news and posted the headlines without having to shower or put on pants.  I should do this more often.

I am also having a good morning. I remembered to take a Trader Joe's chocolate croissant out of the freezer, so I had a nice pastry with my cappuccino. Also, there's a $600 deposit from U.S. Treasury in my bank account today.  Plus it's raining and I don't have anywhere I have to be.

Just curious - how can a croissant be a nice pastry if it's been in the freezer?

You'd think that they'd be mediocre, but they really are good. They're frozen unbaked, and you let them proof overnight and then bake them in the morning.

Really? I was expecting it the first week of May (according to http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180250,00.html). I'm planning on going to Canada and spending mine there.

Canadian ice cream!*

*bills, probably. *sigh*

Nevermind edison, he's just being a spoiled French brat who can get excellent freshly baked petit pains au chocolat at the corner of his street every morning.

(edison, nevermind me, I'm just jealous, obviously.)

Yeah, if tMO and I get our checks, that'll be rent and bills, student loan/car payments, groceries and other sundry goods that have gotten expensive as fuck since before gas went up to 3.50.

Oh, not to mention the money we OWE to the gub-ment.

Man, I mean, 1,200 moneys is a nice supplement, but like everyone else, we're in no position to buy a fucking yacht or whatever it is the administration wants us to do with it.

Man, this shouldn't be in the happy thread, sorry.

Erm... I'm still in my boxers.  Joy.

I could really use my check right now, but I don't think I have a chance of getting it much before next week.

you do realize that an epilator is an epilator, no matter how cute it looks.

No, it's really not. An epilator yanks hair out painfully. This is more like a LASER.

ok, so i just checked, and i will get my payment by june 6. now, i need to go to st. louis for rob's wedding on june 4th, or i guess the 5th at the latest. and i need the stimulus check to pay for the gas to get out there. so if it doesn't come until the 6th, i will be incredibly, royally screwed. hopefully it will come before the last day on which it's supposed to arrive.

ok, that's good. because seriously, my entire ability to be in this wedding is based on the stimulus check's arrival.
