Hey everyone, I was wondering if I could get some good metal recommendations. I know John has mentioned Peste Noire and I checked them out and think they're amazing. I also discovered Akercocke, Blodsrit, Behemoth, Sarcofago (compliments of John once more) and maybe some others. I love the energy of the music and I'll take any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

If you like Peste Noire, you oughta check out the dude's other bands.  There's Amasoeurs, which is half black metal, half shoegaze.  Then there's Alcest which is mostly prettier shoegazey type stuff with a few metal moments.  Both bands rule.

If you want more evil sounding stuff, I've been digging a lot of
-Anaal Nathrakh (grindy black metal.  Some of the most brutal shit I've ever heard)
-Samothrace (slowed down mournful doom.  Like the slow His Hero Is Gone parts if they were covering newer Earth stuff)
-Wolves in the Throne Room (atmospheric nature-worship black metal)
-Kylesa (psychedelic stoner crust with two drummers)

I'll rep the WITTR.

I'll also rep for LPTJ pretty much exclusively pushing me into liking metal (much to the shock and disbelief of my friends and co-workers).

I'll also suggest the following: Torche and Trash Talk.

all 3 played @ the Scion show...i'd seen Torche a couple of times before, knew what WITTR sounded like and had no idea about Trash Talk...TT was fun!  reminded me of hardcore 20 years ago.

Does that mean they sounded like Youth Of Today? With a name like Trash Talk, I would have expected something more like Negative Approach.

i'm not familiar w/ YOT, but they weren't as psychotic as NA.  still, fun band.  here's a post-gig shot of the singer, w/ fresh bruises on his head:
