Right, sorry. Forgot about that.

Brighton V Leeds tonight. Quite like to see the Seagulls doing well, as they're the local team, but they are, annoyingly, ahead of West Ham in the table. Mind you, Leeds are also rivals, and, well, they're Leeds. Maybe a draw with a few red cards would be best.

Ah, Chet.

At least the race for second spot looks like being quite competetive.

sigh

Not the first time a picture like that has appeared in this thread. At least he was red-carded for this one, unlike that shocking elbow he threw late last season that should have seen him banned but instead got him a yellow card.

I didn't see the match and it doesn't surprise me. He has lengthy form for petulant aggression, and I suppose it's the flipside of his biggest asset, in that there's a kind of free and natural, uncontrolled ebullience to the way he plays. Nevertheless, he's something of a moron.

I don't even watch England any more, and realised a long time ago that I would be appalled if they ever won a major tournament.

I just love the childishness of it. First he jumps on the guys back, and he doesn't fall over he decides that kicking him in the leg will be the ticket. When the player falls over his response is "Come on!?"

I don't really follow English (or international, for that matter) football nearly as closely as you guys do, so I was actually unaware of his reputation for such foul play.

I wouldn't so much say that he is known for foul play.

I'd say more that he's known for losing his temper and just doing idiotic things.

I actually thought that .gif was being posted so we could laugh at the dude falling down and pretending to be hurt.

The phrase 'international break' is almost as soul-destroying as 'close season'. They've put Scotland V Spain on terrestrial TV tonight - a total dead rubber, how pointless?! Can we have proper football back please!

It's not a dead rubber - the standing of the group depends on its result! It's just that the result is a foreogne conclusion.

They could've done it, if they had finished their chances.

Right, sorry - I thought Scotland had qualified. I think I half-heard something about their result the other day.

Surprised Nick hasn't been in here yet beaming about West Ham's recent 4-0 thrashing of Blackpool, or are you not watching Championship this year either?

I had my ear pressed eagerly against my wireless for the duration, thanks kyle! The fourth time we've scored 4 this season and our best home performance by far. There were so many great things about this result, but the main ones are - we played with two strikers and both scored on their home debuts, we didn't need our Arsenal loanee and homegrown talent like Collison, Sears and Tomkins all played.

Up to second now, and we play Southampton (1st) on Tuesday night.

Ha! Thanks man  Heart

Except I would have been happy around about picture 2 there, because this happened:

Since then, it's basically accurate though.
