That joke is the 'make the whole airplane out of the black box' joke of the 2000s, to me.

You've seen a lot of webcomics about robots getting captcha tattoos? We must run in different circles.

Yeah, the captcha part-- the machines can't read it, just as bros can't read kanji-- elevates it above the drive on a parkway, etc, realm.

captcha is to robots as asian squiggly characters is to roundeyes is a pretty funny analogy on some level, I have to admit.

If you read the joke as intended, it's just kind of a stale attempt to add an of-the-moment veneer to a played out observation.  But if you think the analogy backwards and squiggly azn letters are an elaborate system specifically designed to defeat white people's attempts to decipher them, that's pretty funny.

Man, I went to this webcomic's website out of work boredom, and Jesus Christ it is bad.  Here, let me just show you the strip whose entire joke was that two Puerto Rican mice are sitting in a maze in wife beaters drinking beer, as the scientist observes that they've traded their cheese for car stereo equipment and spray paint.

Let me show you it.

I'm delighted by the joke, but somewhat weirded out by the appropriation of one of the robots from Futurama.  Can the dude not imagine a robot unless he's seen it before?

Have you guys read the Silverstein Declaration? It's a statement by a man who has been held in solitary confinement for 28 years, and a chilling document of the evil that men do to each other.

Wow.

I would like to have a visit with my family that ends in being able to hug my daughter and shake my son's hand. I know that I have sacrificed most of my rights by virtue of my actions as a much younger man. But I think that these things are not too much to hope for, even in my circumstances.

The description of his first year in solitary is absolutely terrifying.

Based on the spelling and draftsmanship, I'm more than a little delighted at imagining that a 7 year old made it.

Looking for a little summer work to supplement the ol' reading hours stipend, I dropped off resumes at four area hotels last week. As of this afternoon I've gotten calls for interviews from all four of them. It's nice to know that I'll never be lacking for wage slave work if'n I need it.

Thinking about the outermost limits of what a person deserves: what would you guys say is the harshest punishment and/or rehabilitation method that should be allowed for a human that's committed what you consider the most abominable crime?
