That sort of looks like my childhood. Just need Virginia Wade - she's not on the inner sleeve, by any chance, is she?

How is that Jack's Mannequin album , BAoH? I used to be really into--and still like--early Something Corporate. I don't think I've ever listened to any of the Jack's Mannequin stuff though. I think that dude had cancer or something, right? I'm curious what sort of stuff he's writing these days.

Also belongs in the new music coming out thread: new Weather Station album. Quiet, introspective folk that sounds about exactly like you'd expect from a record with this cover.

Just listened to the song from this album that's already floating around on the web, "Everything I Saw", a couple of times, and it's sounding pretty promising. Thanks for the notice, Arlo!

I know, eh? Her last album was a little uneven, but the best song on it ("East") is amazing. I'm hoping for good things.

If you like Something Corporate you'll probably dig this. It's on the poppier side, though. Less emo.

Check out the new song, "My Racing Thoughts"—it's indicative of the rest of the Jack's Mannequin stuff. The Glass Passenger is on occasion one of my favorite records ever, though it came out right around when I last had a nervous breakdown, so. I usually point people toward "Caves" from that record, which is about the treatments he went through for leukemia. This video only has the first half of the song; it's a whole 8-minute thing.

Hmm, thanks for the link. That stuff is probably a bit too poppy for me though that's not a bad song.

Simon Reynolds wrote something about that album recently, and I found it somewhat intriguing, so I may check it out before all is said and done.

I have no idea what the music on this album is like, but I love the cover:

The Simon Scott cover is the first one in a while that's been posted on here that I actually like. Everything else on this page is awful.

Well, I like the Snowmine one too.

I don't know either but it looks pretty sweet.

although, frankly I would lose the band name and just go with "Blood Lust"

pretty rare stoner metal record released this year. think they only pressed 300 vinyl copies and they're all gone, but it's out there on the blogs for downloading
