ah well, it was worth a shot anyway. maybe someone out front will want it.
And now I'm very sad that I don't check the Earbuds more often.

we ended up leaving our extra ticket at the boxoffice and asking them to give it away to anyone who showed up wanting one, even. there were a ton of people out front trying to sell tickets too.

man i really hope some kind of live recording gets released from this tour. im sure there will be bootlegs, if nothing else.

also they were selling a real swank NMH poster at the merch table.

Thax Douglas is a poet who writes poems inspired by the bands he's going to introduce, and then as introductions he reads the poems.

I just wiki'd him, and he looks brilliant. Think he'll open when I see Mangum in April?

Did I mention two tickets to the Athens show sort of fell in my lap this past weekend? That's just what I was hoping would happen!

I dunno. I guess he lives in Wisconsin now so that may have been why he was there.

There's a documentary about him though. I think it's streaming on Netflix!

ack, we canceled netflix. but I'll look for it.

poetry inspired by music gets a bad rep because of the beats, but that's mostly because people reading poetry to jazz these days are just living a beat fantasy. but the beats deserve credit for rediscovering that poems and music are meant for each other. sounds like this poet is onto something similar.
