I told them it's actually going to be twins.

Ask for name suggestions.  Tell them you're thinking something "classic", like Brempus and Brompren

Welp, between tapatalk not letting me post in almost any threads and the fact that the web version spews malicious Java, looks like I'm not going to be able to post here much anymore at all. Would've put this in the annoyed thread, but that's one of the more than twenty I've found so far that I can't post in.

yeah I can barely get lptj to work at work because of the java thing. I don't use tapatalk at all. Going to lptj through safari on my phone works much much better. Try that, jm!

It's just shitty on a tiny little screen. I have to zoom way in just to click on something and then zoom way as soon as I did, and then zoom way back in just to be able to read it. Seeing 1% of a page at a time makes the whole process extraordinarily time-consuming.

I mean, having big fat flat calloused thumbs makes using *anything* through a phone browser a pain in the ass.

turning the phone sideways makes it work better. I don't find the zooming to be all that tedious. But I have tiny dainty fingers that can touch anything with ease.

I just double tap and it automatically resizes at a decent magnification.

Aw man, that's great. Processed World used to do agitprop about calling in sick, but they never had an audience like this year's May 1.

Nope. It's sort of like how we're the last nation to get Queen.

Huh. I thought May Day was a day off in the US as well!

Nope! Our official Labor Day is in September. I'm pretty sure it was a puposeful move to dissassociate the worker's holiday with, you know, the actual worker's movement.

New Zealand's Labour Day is in October, to mark the start of widespread attempts to limit the working day to eight hours. In most nations it's either on Mayday or on some locally relevant date, which makes the fact that the US doesn't make it on Mayday all the more striking: it's the anniversary of the Haymarket Riot, after all, and that was in Chi-town.

Here in Chicago we commemorate the Haymarket riot with beer.

Justin Bieber writes song about paternity suit
This is unlikely to be another 'Billie Jean'. But, more importantly, I'm embarrassed on his behalf--the poor kid is so young, and every sentence that comes out here indicates someone very, very much out of his depth. And, of course, the fact that he is so much in the spotlight means that this is the example that is being set for teenagers right now:
Quote
"Yeah, I think I'm a great boyfriend because you have to be honest and patient with girls... 'Cause sometimes they can give you a headache," he said.
Not that young people have often had good role-models for personal relationships in the wider media, but I'm saddened to see all this round of society fucking itself up happen in real time.

I think that pretty much covers it.
