ok this is pretty good also

wtf. maybe i have just been awake too long.

or has this all sort have been some biblical level test of faith?

have i been wandering thru the desert of youtube, looking for some based nutrition but finding only the desiccated trunks of dying cacti; trying to understand WHY? what is the purpose? is there meaning at all? until my faith was almost completely tested to breaking point? is this the light?

did you all go thru this?

That's a fairly common path.  I started in when he was just doing BASED FREESTYLEs and it was one of the weirdest things I'd ever heard, so I kept listening

Chet you joke, but I remember my first Lil B breakthrough: I was driving down Interstate 40 on the way home from a long work trip, was kind of half-listening to Based Blunts for the third or fourth time and not really getting into it, then "Time" came on and I guess it was partially my frayed, beat-down mental haze but I had a sudden epiphany.

I think "King Cotton" was the moment where #basedworld first really resonated with me. I had been (and to a large extent remain) on the fence about Lil B, but keep listening anyway because even when terrible and nigh unlistenable his Jandek-of-Myspace shtick is frequently enough spellbinding or at least unpredictable. that track's utter sincerity, though, gives it a real emotional heft, IMHO.

In keeping with Fat Tuesday, can anyone explain to me the beef Lil B had (or has) with New Orleans rappers that he seems to be responding to in Blue Flame? Seems linked to rappers hating on him for saying "swag", which is frankly a joke or dig I still don't wholly get.

I don't think there is one.  Lil B is a huge classic NOLA rap fan - the cover of White Flame is based on Soulja Slim's Give It 2 'Em Raw

Wasn't it something to do with David Banner? Don't know the whole story really. That one recent Lil B song was on a David Banner beat right?

EDIT: 'I Own Swag' was the DB beat. He said some shit about the new swag movement or something right?

EDIT 2: Ok, apparently not a DB beat, so I have no idea what I'm talking about, but there was something between them.

That's what he keeps saying on this Blue Flame track but it's after this talking part about how niggas have to stop hating on him for hating on NOLA.

Probably responding to some FB post of the moment, sounds like.

Banner made a song called "Swag" that attacked B and the other internet generation rappers.  Lil B jacked the beat and licked shots back.  Banner is from Mississippi.  That was all way after Blue Flame, which, I dunno, twitter moves too fast.  There are some weird fractured-bounce style tracks on there.
