I love walking lunges, I'm not sure why. I love the idea of dancing for warm up! I finally managed to get out for a run on Sunday morning, and I got a nasty stitch, which when I got home, seemed to be more than just a  stitch. And so 3 days later I'm still feeling like spewing and getting stomach cramps :-/ I don't think it was the run that did it, but I'm guessing it didn't help.

Running in my second-ever 5K this Saturday. It's being organized by People for a Better Athens, the organization trying to keep Wal-Mart out of downtown.

Why would you need to lay off?  Is it in a place that'll chafe?

It's on the back of my arm, just above my elbow, so I'm worried that the motion of lifting (especially things like, say, curls) might affect it. I know that I definitely can't do any of the strength machines that would require that part of my arm to rest on a surface. Padded or not, that seems like a pretty terrible idea.

I'm also worried about sweat, but that's probably a dumb thing to worry about.

I just don't want to ooze blood and plasma all over the gym alright?

when i left we were discussing gin. what happened?

anyway, after one day of indian food for every meal i was pretty much over it and have been living off of raw nuts and dried fruit for the past few days. it's one way to shake the last 10 pounds. discovered a place today that does great, basic provincial fare and had a salad of sliced tomatoes squeezed with lemon, simple spinach momo (dumplings) and lemon juice with soda water. bland as hell but they say there's nothing that tastes as good as being fit feels and i want to see what all the fuss is about.

Boggles my mind that people run indoors when the weather's good. Is VH1 that interesting?

Right after the race, corp execs for Wal Mart with dangerous glints in their eyes will pack up and go. "If they wouldn't have raced, this would have been all ours," one of them says, hefting a Brookstone brief case with sections to secret away your doodads.

This is HILARIOUS. Worth reading this interview for a laugh.

Q: But critics call soft drinks "empty" calories.
A: A calorie is a calorie. What our drinks offer is hydration. That's essential to the human body. We offer great taste and benefits whether it's an uplift or carbohydrates or energy. We don't believe in empty calories. We believe in hydration.
