Whoa, am I the last person on the planet to realize that the actor who plays Theon is Lily Allen's younger brother, the very same one she famously concern-trolled in song?

I'm going to say no, but only because i have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. (Edit: why did I just go and listen to that song? It was awful.)

Anyway:

Ah, the final line in the Ned Stark one is particularly excellent.

Really though I thought that was a good bit of casting--though why did they change her character's name?

Because Osha and Asha are too similar and they didn't want dumb Americans getting confused.

Cogman made a joke about it being just as much for their own sanity--writing Osha/Asha on outlines, scripts, costume orders, and such.

They are increasing Osha's stature quite a bit, so it makes sense. Seems like they're having her serve the narrative function of Jojen and Meera as well, at least for this season.

There's lots of nerd rage about the lack of Jojen and Meera, but I'm totally fine with it; Osha's a more interesting character anyhow. I do wonder how it will effect things down the road though, since, by book 5, Howland Reed is the only one left alive who knows Jon Snow's parentage, presumably.

I know this has come up several times already, but I'm just amazed at how opaque this series must be for initiates. I have trouble keep track of who and where everyone is, and I just read the entire series last summer. Coming to GoT cold must be similar to watching those first few seasons of the Wire for the first time.

I dunno, I would've thought the same thing, but the people I watch it with who haven't read the books don't seem to have too much trouble, apart from "Who is Theon again?" and the introduction of the Dragonstone stuff, and, I mean, those things were issues in the books, too. If anything, the show made it a little easier.

I often forget people's names, but find it easy to follow; my brain just replaces a lot of the names with things like "pirate lady" and "blondie's cousin".
