so in acting class i have to do a scene from high fidelity. i am rob. any ideas of how i can do it that isn't how cusack did it?

Which scene is it?  Cos if it's one in the shop, you could just act like every record store clerk in North America.  Monotone, bored, paying more attention to the Sun Ra they're playing than the guy they're ringing up.  That's not necesarily a Cusac-patented style.

If it's one of the plot-thing type scenes with a girl, fuck if I know.  Do it like Hugh Grant.

That might be a good scene to play older.  Maybe bump Rob's age up to the late 30s or play it more cerebral.  Cusack has this kind of annoying baleful-eyed thing going on there and that might help you steer clear of that.  I guess the important thing to remember is that in that scene, he's entered his Zen mode (which is of course completely shattered by the end).

Who's playing Dick?  And Rob's mom?  Break a leg.

we are doing the original script version, so no dick. rob's mom is my friend chloe.
