Yes!  Gamespy had a really amazing weeklong celebration of D&D's anniversary in August with a complete history, interviews with Gary Gygax, etc.

Here's the link. http://pc.gamespy.com/articles/538/538848p1.html?fromint=1

I'll try to host the Duergar t-shirt graphic somewhere so I can post it here.  Give me a few minutes.

The Larry Meyer Barbershop Orchestra
The Travis Heller Keytar Explosion

My friend Travis would be pissed if he knew I was plotting to steal his band name.

excuse the nerdiness.

my amazing friend kim and i have an imaginary death metal band -- a year long on going joke -- we have summer euro tour t-shirts, bumper stickers, and now she is working on our 'ghetto' graffiti style fall tour shirt.

the name?

Kim and Natalia's ANGRY Death Metal Band.

i know, i know....

Thought of one in the car the other day:

The Hooks versus Riffs

I imagine the band to be sort of death-metal crossed with Big Star.

some friends and i discussed having a band named Les Small Change. you know, for situations when you're in a foreign country, such as france, and need to break a large bill and you know very little french. "d/(c)sol/(c), je n'ai pas...les small change?" and we would only cover songs regarding money or mentioning money. then my side project would be called We Need Singles, and i'd open for Les Small Change.

(maybe it's funnier after you haven't gotten any sleep.)

Adam Smith & The Invisible Hands would share a bill with either band in a heartbeat. Wink

hmmm...

'The Earthworm Tractors' always appealed to me... i don't know why... don't think i'd ever use it, though... and i used to be in a band called The Honeymoon Killers... until i found out that someone had beaten us to it...

i'm also really happy with the name of the band i've been trying to find the time and self-confidence to get off the ground : Truckers Move America

even though we're from New Zealand, i just love the way those words sound together... and it fits what we sound like perfectly... it just does... i got the name from a belt buckle i saw this Texan guy wearing once... and we are kind of a country band... sort of...

also, when my Dad was in the U.S. he found this truck stop somewhere that sold T Shirts with 'Truckers Move America' written on them... kinda like readymade merchandise...
