And I'm in Rhode Island, where I just discovered I have internet access in my hotel room, AND I get to meet girl tomorrow! But alas, I can't sit here and post up a storm, because I need sleep so very badly--I had to get up at 3am today to get a ride to the airport, and it's been constant transit ever since.

Blech. I just finished a 13 hour day capped with another couple of hours of writing class proposals and getting my CV straight so I can remain in Shangri-La over the summer. And tomorrow's another 13 hour day.

Hey! Guess who wishes she was still sleeping, but instead needs to be leaving her house in less than 45 minutes?

Thanks! Will do!

I have no idea what to wear. . .  Confused
Google says 55 degrees. I was planning on a sweater, but maybe I need a jacket. I guess I'll just bring a scarf. I hate weather.

So my Grandma left me a message on my phone last night to the effect of: "Hi this is Grandma the FBI came by my office today and I really need to talk with you tonight if at all possible love you bye."

Two hours of flipping the fuck out later I get hold of her and she tells me it's some dude trying to give me career advice.

This shit is always hilarious in retrospect, but not so much when it's happening.

They finally caught up to you.  You thought you could download horse-porn forever?

Speaking of messages from family:  I had a message on my answering machine the other day from my sister, directing me to call her voice-mail system; apparently, there was a message she received that she wanted me to hear.

So I called up her voice-mail, and listened to the message.  It was from a manager at her local grocery store, thanking her for her customer comment card.  As per her suggestion on the customer comment card, the store put more detailed labels on their peppers.

I do not think the weed thread is the proper place to convey this, so what's up "reading the forums" thread, I am robotripping at the gates of hell and it is fantastic.

robotripping

always makes me think of the NPR piece on the Hold Steady's lyrics in which Craig Finn was consulted for the meaning of "She said, 'My name's Robbie Robertson but people call me robo.'"

i always kinda wondered if it was also a reference to black flag/misfits drummer robo, who has to be the polar opposite, in musician terms, of robbie robertson. but i guess maybe not.

Hi. I can't decide between more coffee or a nap. Right now I'm leaning toward both.

How is it possible that all of the best people in the world post here? Seriously. I have loved every single lptjer that I've met. This place is like magic or something!

WAIT TILL YOU MEET ME

I don't know if that's supposed to be self-deprecating or -aggrandizing, and also, hi, I'm reading the forums. A baby just arrived, and he's wearing a funny hat, so I should go.
