Drunk!  On Bar Harbor Real Ale.  I haven't been drinking much lately and I am a cheap date these days (three beers = pretty fucking tipsy).

Man I started out yesterday with Glenlivet and hot buttered rum and finished while drinking shiraz at Juno.

I would like to try some beer from Bar Harbor.

Bar Harbor has the most microbreweries per capita than anywhere else in the US (three breweries, low year round population).  And weren't you moving to Maine at one point?

Yeah.  But I was moving to a lot of places at one point.  Maine is still on the list of possibilities in the future.

I have always had a strange curiosity about Bar Harbor, stemming mostly from a t-shirt I found in my Dad's closet.

hah, i'm reading "generation of swine" by hunter s. thompson right now, and a few pages ago he referenced "a methuselah of dom perignon". i just thought he was making a joke about someone getting a really old bottle. i didn't realize it was the preferred nomenclature.

I always thought that missoula would be in the running for breweries per capita (3 breweries x 50,000).

Montana is pretty good in general though.  3 in missoula, 4 in billings, 1 in belt, 1 in helena, 1 in bozeman

Oh man, a tumbler, 3 ice cubes, a couple dashes of angostura bitters and a good slug of this right here

It smells just like egg nog.  It is quite delicious.

Last day of freedom, start my new job tomorrow, drowning my sorrows* in a black and tan.

*I think the new job will be fun, but not as much fun as not working.

Truth! When we closed our business and I was getting my divorce, I spent like six months not working and living off my severance pay. In retrospect, I would have been better off if I had gotten a new job and saved the money, but I still think of that time fondly.

In other news, I'm really not in the mood for beer. I might have to abandon this black and tan and run out to the store for mixers.

I don't know, I think I'd go crazy if I didn't have a job or schooling to attend for a long period of time.

I always think that while I'm in school or working, but when I get a long stretch of time off I realize that it's just a lie I tell myself to make work and school seem to suck a little less

Truth. The week off between my old job and my current one was pure magic.

A week, yeah.  Even a few weeks.  But a month or more, I'd probably go insane.  Which is what will happen when I get home and can't get a job for a month or two.
