Ach, forgot what the general timbre of my e-mail to Lego was about their products increasingly being segregated by gender roles.  Just got an e-mail back stating that they do not tolerate foul language.

I was working through the effects of pre-ban 4 Loko at the time.  New Year's Day seemed a reasonable occasion to break open a Very Special Can.

Oh man, the new Forest Police station comes with a bear!  Also, it seems like you could use this set to build some awesome Twin Peaks scenes.

I love that people are already subverting the "Friends" line into badass girl power stuff.

I'm seriously loving the new "Racist Cops and Trash Bears" line of City stuff. I want that Forest Police station bad.

Not Lego, but I found out this weekend that Playmobil makes a fucking JEWEL HEIST playset. A picture of which I posted to Twitter.

Also they make like a spy/scientist lair. When did Playmobil get so badass?

I would buy the hell out of that retro plane lego if it were real.

Also, I have a  playmobil nativity that I love.

Further hilarious subversion of Friends.

Favorite detail - the different color on the wall by the ladder to create the effect of "light coming down from above."

I love the details on the Forest Police station. 3-bed cell! Remove the rocks to reveal the stolen goods!

As far as I'm concerned, they've always been pretty awesome. Where's the link to that Top 10 Most Inappropriate Playmobil Sets Ever list when you need it?

I love how all the playmobil characters have a little smile on their face, even the ones with shitty jobs

or the ones that are apparently going through a grueling multiple hour and seemingly quite complicated surgery.

Man, my shit was all just like Mr. and Mrs. Playmobil and like some horses and a white plastic click-together fence.  None of this and certainly none of this

Anne had part of that Operating Theatre one up there (a hand me down so not all of it) and I had a gentleman in an admirals uniform and a lady in a fancy hat driving a 2-horse drawn carriage. Also a 19th century kitchen with a cook lady and a little servant boy, with which many Dickensian dramas were enacted, especially as the horse and carriage came with a whip with which the servant boy could be beaten, everyone smiling all the while.

We bought E some City Lego the other day - a jewel heist, and I've been really getting into it. He's been enjoying getting other minifigs to drive the getaway car - like the 80s chick with the boombox. Annoyingly though there's a piece missing, and I don't have the set number, so getting it replaced is hard.

it's this one.

An update on the above post - I got an email from a guy called Steve, and they're sending the piece we're missing. Also we watched the Nat Geo Megafactories Lego one last night, and it was great. Happy about Lego again.

That pic is pretty cool Davy.
