but gi works in a gas station, doesn't he? and as of two years ago he still lived in south africa.

i'm thinking it's one of the infrequent nz posters, like thedeadchris or ddillaman or even ferris wheel on fire.

Chris drives the cable car, as far as I know he doesnt teach. Anyway I thought L6L9 was from elsewhere, living here now though. And ddilla has only been in NZ 2 years or summat.

Today has been such a random phone day. I got a call from my sales rep at Sweetwater (yeah, come to think of it, I did need to blow a bunch of money on audio shit right now!) followed by a call from the power company for someone who no longer has my phone number.

I went to high school in Auckland and later Japan, the poster is from my Auckland high school. It would, I imagine, be inappropriate to post any personal info or whatever, and I imagine he is probably a lurker as I have no proof of him actually posting, just visiting the forums from his computer an awful lot.

Who would have thought that getting hit in the finger by an air hockey puck would hurt so fucking much? It's been 18 hours now, and the head of my right index finger feels ready to fall off.

Nah, just smashed it at the base of the nail, so it's all red and swollen. Gaby inspected it and told me it'll be fine (she's as close as I can come to a real doctor, but not that far away from being one), I just had to take my bitching here because she seems to have heard enough self-pitying over it.

Day off for me, too. I have plans, though. I'm going to see a hockey game with my mom. (?) First, I really should make myself a cup of coffee.

I think I'm probably going to do that thing at work where I clock in and back out again right away

I feel like I was ran over by a booze truck piloted by a reefer-smoking metalhead throwing cigarettes out the window like candy at a parade

A recent regime of regular exercise and limited coffee (a cup every couple of days, down from three pots a day) has led me to feeling both random and possibly humanish.

I expect pollo to rip me a new one any minute now, which is why this is going here than in the stabby-or-whatever thread... but fuck every private university -- and one in particular -- that only now offers full tuition to those with family incomes under $60,000. Where were you guys in 2002? Or, for that matter, in 2003, 2004, and 2005? Apply that shit retroactively, please. Also, don't build two new residence halls -- "likely be the two most expensive residence halls ever constructed in American history." Bully for you.

So I celebrated my birthday with the uncle/aunt/cousin last night (my birthday is really next Sunday, though, so mark your calendars) and took home the uneaten half of the birthday cake. I don't want a half a cake. I had two pieces today and now I feel bloated and gross. The first piece was good, though.

It is nice, though, when one's big problem in life is that one has too much chocolate cake.

Hey man I ain't gonna rip you. My uni, a STATE school, has built two new residence halls, a brand new student center, and started three new building expansions in the last two years. All the while we're running a huge fucking deficit and tuition has increased TWENTY FOUR FUCKING PERCENT since I started here. 6% a year, the maximum allowed by law. WTF.

Then again man I mean if your 'rents are clocking more than 60K a year, they can probably afford to kick in a little bit, right? Full tuition rides are for those who really don't have anything save what the govt will give em. And I imagine the gov't is gonna give you something, at least in the form of loans, right?
Also if you wait a year they won't figure your parents' income into their financial aid decisions.

No, no, she's saying that they give full tuition NOW to anyone whose family makes under 60K a year and before they DID NOT.  She is saying Yale is a bunch of assholes, which, as a Crimson supporter, obv.
