The latest bit of evidence I’ve got in support of this contention is an album by Divine Syndrome. They’re Canadian; of course they are, since they play death metal, and practically all great death metal bands are Canadian. It would not surprise me to learn that even legendary Floridian death metal giants Morbid Angel have some Canadian connection. Divine Syndrome employ the clean/dirty vocal combo that’s worked well on occasion for Amorphis, and while Divine Syndrome aren’t quite as phenomenol as prime-period My Kantele Amorphis, they’re worth listening to.
