There are all sorts of consequences to be borne out from listening to music like this, most of them obvious, I’d hope. As for me, I hope several prominent world leaders received gift subscriptions to the Unheard Music Series for Christmas this year. The infinite capacity for weight-bearing attributed to baby Jesus is easier to conceive of in the atmosphere of limitless love conveyed by an ensemble like Schoof’s, and freedom is really only the sum total of its limitations; and the good news for all of us is that all such limitations turn out to have been self-imposed. They are, therefore, not limitations at all, but choices, freely made or unmade as we ourselves see fit. …well, then! Great jumping cats!
