So it is, I mean to say, dirty, blood-encrusted, foul and scabrous black metal of the exact sort with which a person looking for good black metal ought to be delighted. But it is, as I said once and will say again, a little tiring after a while. Wherefore the third of the three releases contained in this two-CD compilation stands apart, if one is being a responsible listener and keeping track of when one sequence ends and another begins (this takes a little effort, and is my sole gripe about the otherwise excellent packaging job done by the Finnish label Woodcut Records, who released this album and should be applauded for doing so), because its a four song EP called Perima Vihassa Ja Verikostossa, which in a perfect world would be translated in English by something to the effect of Heres An Ass-Kicking EP for All You Filthy, Raw Black Metal People Who Have a Thing About EP-length Releases but which probably actually means Satan Sure Looks Fine in Slacks or something like that. |
