What? That’s right, the New York Post, champion of local traditions worldwide & of increasing cross-cultural awareness, don’tcha know. Or don’tcha? Right next to the completely amazing Tuxedomoon 12” at my left is Music from the United Nations, a 12-LP boxed set that I got from my neighbors last summer when they were liquidating their vinyl collection. It says “New York Post” at least four times on the front cover, so the chances are small that it’s just some wiseguy apprentice at the printer trying to mess with us. What this is is an artifact from a different time, both for the Post and for we who routinely use its name as dismissive shorthand for yellow journalism. |
