I do not enjoy listening to Morning
Bell. I think it is probably the best song on the album. It
does not make me cry; not many songs do that, and the ones that do
usually manage it not by their own wiles but by accidentally finding
some hidden circuit in my brain that leads to a gentle reminder that
someday everyone we know will be dead, and that the same is true for
people we dont know. Morning Bell has a childish
melody, and a childish chord progression, and Ive heard the
case advanced that the narrator is himself a child. |
