I am being cynical; perhaps a recording of whale songs would do just fine
if released by a major label today. Perhaps. It may be that a recent analogue,
the Thai Elephant Orchestra album, is selling like hotcakes. I probably
should not think about this sort of stuff too much, as it will depress me.
Better to just listen to the first track on side two, which, if the word
“sublime” is to be thought of as having meaning, is that word’s
very definition. |
