Every band should be so considerate of its audience and the legacy it will leave to history, but almost none are. The new Fugazi album is called The Argument, and it is simply wonderful. People who are anxious for Fugazi to be a punk rock band will doubtless be disappointed, but such people have been disappointed for a few years now; people who want for Fugazi to not be a punk band at all, however, are missing the broader point. And it’s all right there in the album’s opening song, which is an absolute stunner. |
