...it is bliss itself: to have one’s troubles carried away by a muted jazz guitar like the one that trails off into the distance at the end of “I Could Make You Care,” or to have one’s mood lightened by this flute-and-sax-rich arrangement of “I Get a Kick Out of You,” which Hartman delivers with approximately half the intensity of Sinatra but to at least as much effect. It’s the languor, man. It’s the lilt. It’s the feeling that whatever the makers of this music have inside of them, it’s something hotly to be desired by anyone who feels overburdened.
