of sound and presentation, Increased Damnation gives off the
heady glow of hidden treasure. Mirage opens like a razor
opening skin, snare and guitar sounding at the exact same moment and
breaking into a letter-perfect impression of 80s thrash metal.
The three-note riff, the compulsory head-nod drumming, the attitude-rich,
half-sung half-shouted vocals: its almost like opening a door
through time. Theres a lot of echo on the vocals, and you cant
make out the lyrics at all, and the guitar riff changes into something
completely different every sixteen measures, and then, at exactly
1:38 of the song, Aura Noir summons the magic power that is their
unique gift. |
