| So here we all are coming
up on ten years later and I’m getting back from a weekend in
Seattle and Olympia, and I’m quite exhausted, and it’s time
to write the weekly update. Do I want to write about heavy metal?
No. Do I want to write about this keening, hard-careening band called
the Intima? Well, yeah, actually, I do, but I’m too tired to
give the record the seven to ten listens it takes for me to be able
to work myself up to a proper froth about it. What I want is to chill,
and being a cake-and-eat-it-too kind of guy, I also want to feel all
high-brow while I’m doing it. So when a package shows up from
Emperor
Jones today with a new record by Steven R. Smith in it today,
I am pretty psyched about it. |
