And I know this, right? It’s just that there’s never enough
time to explore every last avenue. It is the tragedy of being alive
generally speaking: how many missed opportunities might actually have
led you to the happiness you’ve sought all your life? You’ll
never know; that’s what missed opportunities are all about.
For the obsessive recorded-sound-media hoarder, the soul-wrenching
question is this: “Do I actually know how I feel about all the
music I’ve heard?” Most krautrock stuff has always struck
me as pleasant enough; Kraftwerk’s great, of course, and Golem’s
pretty cool, too. But I’ve never felt compelled to immerse myself
in the genre. It’s never seemed like a pressing matter. And
then Ash Ra Tempel’s Join Inn turns up in the mail just
in time to completely reinvent my Sunday morning. |
