| They’re called Decapitated, and
they released their second album for Wicked World late last winter.
The album was called Nihility, and it came out in February.
January & February are great times to release records if you want
‘em to disappear, but otherwise they’re awful. Nobody’s
spending any money in January and February. The review sections of
the free weeklies tend to get real thin around that time of year;
either that or they’re running reviews that they would have run
back in December if all available print space hadn’t already
been set aside for year-end wrap-ups. At any rate new records that
come out toward the beginning of the new year tend to get the squeeze.
I know: I write for a couple of weekly papers, and I received a review
copy of Nihility in early December, and what did the album
get from me? The squeeze, that’s what. |
