I think we all do to
some extent, or there’d be no such thing as headstones. Speaking
of which, one of the best metal bands around is presently toiling
away in almost utter anonymity out on Long Island, and not only
will nobody notice them now, nobody’s going to notice them ever
outside of a very dedicated underground, and since Maurice Blanchot
says that that’s good, I’ll take his word for it and just
bang my head a little while there’s still world enough and time.
The band’s called Ghoul. They’re sort of like a grind-metal
band, except that they rock harder than most grind-metal bands, and
they’re sort of like an old-school speed-metal band, except that
they’ve got a great sense of humor.
