Long, long ago,
when all video games were 8-bit and men wore their hair all big and angular,
people used to argue about whether music videos were worth a good god-damn.
the general consensus among people was that they werent: that adding
visuals to music invariably cheapened the music somehow, erasing subtleties
and needlessly reducing complexities. This makes sense: music is the most
abstract art, while the moving image is about as far from abstraction
as one can get. |
