| So there’s that, which is half the
distance to the goal. On top of it, there’s Opeth’s terrific
ear for a despairing melody, which they share with their countrymen
in Katatonia, who are also excellent. But while Katatonia work the
same side of the street as Opeth, I’ll still take Blackwater
Park over Last Fair Deal Gone Down, because Opeth is the band who,
having achieved the platform of cool, are still unabashedly playing
progressive rock. |
